NUMBERS DON'T LIE

RAPTORS 105  HAWKS 97

The "Fifty Wins" Edition

The Raptors got it done. Toronto defeated the Atlanta Hawks 105-97 on Wednesday to get their 50th win after putting up a dud against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. This sets a new franchise record for the Raptors and they still have eight games to play and potentially build on their win total for the season. The Atlanta Hawks were red-hot coming into the game, coming off a four-game win streak.

Numbers don't lie, check the scoreboard - here are the numbers that you need to know:

50 Biggest number of the night. 50 wins, a new franchise record for these Toronto Raptors.

40 Kyle Lowry had somewhat of a bounce back game after getting his elbow drained on Monday. Lowry played 40 minutes and finished with 17 pts (4/19 FG) 6 rebounds and 11 assists.

22 The Raptors had played an impressive three quarters and led by 22 at the end of the third. The Hawks did make a run at the start of the fourth and outscored the Raptors 30-16 in the final quarter but couldn't manage to gain a lead.

13 Terrence Ross made his return to the lineup and scored 13 points in 23 minutes of play.

19/9 Jonas Valanciunas played well for the Raptors scoring 19 pts (9/13) and grabbing 9 rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

Atlanta had a four game winning streak end after tonight's loss to the Raptors. The Hawks now hold a 45-31 record and are in third place in the Eastern Conference.

18 Atlanta had 18 turnovers on the night to the Raptors 11. Toronto scored 25 points off of the 18 Atlanta turnovers.

10 Norm Powell, the most popular Raptor for the month of March, continued to shine for Raptors fans.  He scored all 10 of his points in the third quarter to spark the Raptors to a 22-pt lead over the Hawks. He also had another impressive highlight:
26 DeMar DeRozan had a solid outing in the record setting win and led the Raptors with 26 points (9/16 FG), 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3/4 from 3pt.

18 Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 18 points but only played 22 minutes.

Final Stat

One Kyle Lowry hook shot. He took off the sleeve in the fourth quarter and hit the baby hook with just under two minutes to play. He'll be alright (let's hope.)
Raptors play the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday in Memphis.

Oh, by the way if you haven't already checked out the sneak peek of issue #198 of Slam Magazine with DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry & Drake on the cover, please check out the link here.
