The "49th Win" Edition
It took a few tries but the Raptors managed to get their 49th win of the season, tying their franchise record in wins. It came in a blowout win against the New Orleans Pelicans 115-91 on Saturday night. This snapped a two-game losing streak for the Raptors after a frustrating loss to the Houston Rockets the night before.
Numbers don't lie, check the scoreboard:
49 The Raptors tied their franchise record of 49 wins and still have ten games left to play in the regular season.
31 The Raptors led by as much as 31 points with New Orleans playing from behind for the full 48 minutes.
23 DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 23 points on 9-11 shooting in 30 minutes of play. DeMar also threw down a sick alley oop jam with the assist from Kyle Lowry.
3-13 It was another frustrating night for Kyle Lowry from the field. Lowry was 3-13 from the floor and 0/8 from 3-pt land.
0 Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan managed to play 0 minutes in the fourth quarter and were able to get some much needed rest on the back-to-back.
15-7-2 Norm Powell got the start again with Terrence Ross sidelined with the hand injury. He continued with another impressive game: 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists in 33 minutes.
5 Jonas Valanciunas had a career-high 5 blocks on the night to go along with his 10 points and 9 rebounds.
89.3% The Raptors were better from the free throw line shooting 89.3% going 25-28 from the line.
