Lowry and DeRozan named Eastern Conference Co-Players of the Month
The chemistry on and off the court with Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan has been quite apparent this season. After leading the Raptors on a franchise 11-game win streak, the duo were named the Eastern Conference Co-Players of the Month on Tuesday.

The National Basketball Association announced Tuesday that Toronto Raptors guards DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry have been selected as co-winners for Eastern Conference Player of the Month. During 14 games in January, the duo combined to average 45.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 10.9 assists, while leading the Raptors in scoring during a stretch of 10 consecutive games in a franchise-record 11-game win streak. DeRozan and Lowry become the first players in team history to earn the honour twice, after being selected for April 2015 and December 2014, respectively.The duo were also named to the All-Star team in January with Lowry voted in as a starter for the Eastern Conference while DeMar DeRozan was voted by the coaches on the All-Star reserves last week. Kyle Lowry reached a franchise milestone on Monday night passing Alvin Williams on the Raptors all-time assists list with 1793 assists and trails former Raptor Jose Calderon who has 3,770 assists. DeRozan had an impressive January averaging 23.9 ppg for the month.
The duo has developed a strong relationship during their time as teammates and have been caught in post game scrums and interviews joking around with one another. The friendship has translated well on the court and the duo has led the Raptors to an impressive franchise record in 11 consecutive wins.
