Andrew Wiggins, Dwight Powell Join #TeamWorld in the Rising Stars Challenge
The rosters for the BBVA Rising Stars challenge were announced today and Canadians Andrew Wiggins and Dwight Powell were selected to the Team World roster. Wiggins has averaged 20.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg with the Wolves and will make his second appearance in the Rising Stars challenge -- this time, in his hometown Toronto.
Toronto native, Dwight Powell of the Dallas Mavericks joins Wiggins on Team World. The second year Mavericks forward is averaging 6.8 ppg and 4.8 ppg with the Mavs and has been a solid contributor off the Mavs bench.
Team World roster includes the Knicks Kristaps Porzingis, Nuggets PG Emmanuel Mudiay and the Bulls Nikola Mirotic. Andrew Wiggins' teammates Karl-Anthony Towns and Zach Lavine will join Team USA along with Sixers big men Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel.
Last season, Andrew Wiggins led Team World to a 121-112 win over Team USA and took home the MVP honours with 22 points in the win.
This year's young talent will bring their game in the Rising Stars challenge at the Air Canada Centre on February 12th.
