NUMBERS DON'T LIE

THUNDER 119, RAPTORS 118 (2OT)

The "KD Stunner" Edition

Kevin Durant came into the ACC on Friday night and took the life out of the building with 1.7 seconds to play in a double overtime thriller against the Raptors.  Toronto went blow for blow with OKC and eventually pulled a way with under a minute to play in double OT....and then Kevin Durant happened.

Numbers don't lie, check the scoreboard:

The Raptors

Toronto had four players with 20+ points: DeMar with 33 pts/8 reb, Amir Johnson 25 pts/12 reb/5blk, Lowry with 25 pts/6 reb and Greivis Vasquez 21 pts/4 reb.

John Salmons missed two big free throws with 9.7 to play in double OT that could have helped put the Raptors up four points.  Kevin Durant then hit the dagger with 1.7 sec to play.

0:49 The Raptors had pulled away with 49 seconds to play in the second overtime, putting together an eight point lead.  The Thunder quickly erased that lead with a Derek Fisher three ball and two Kevin Durant threes.

0:07 With seven seconds to play in the first overtime, Kyle Lowry nailed a big three to force a second overtime.  Another solid effort from the point guard.

4-21 Terrence Ross and Jonas Valanciunas had bad shooting nights going a combined 4-21 shooting (19%)

3-11 The Raptors are 3-11 this season when games are decided by five points or less.

The Thunder

51 The story of the night was the Slim Reaper himself, Kevin Durant.  51 points (15-32), 7-12 from 3pt, 14-19 FT, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, one steal and one block.

34 This was Durant's 34th consecutive game of scoring 25+ points and is currently chasing MJ's record of 40 straight games from the 86-87 season.

15 Russell Westbrook scored 15 points in 19 minutes of play after leaving with a sprain to his surgically repaired knee.

Final Notes

1.7 One dagger to the ACC crowd with 1.7 seconds to play from the Slim Reaper.

Pound The Rock Star of the Game: Kevin Durant 51 points (15-32), 7-12 from 3pt, 14-19 FT, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, one steal and one block.
