Watch Terrence Ross Take Flight with a One-Handed Jam Against the Knicks


The Raptors moved to 22-6 on Sunday afternoon with another convincing win, this time it was against the New York Knicks. Toronto now is on a six game winning streak with their 118-108 win over the reeling Knicks. Terrence Ross had another solid performance with 18 points (7/15 FG) in 36 minutes that included this one-handed jam on the fast break.

Jonas Valanciunas has been impressive for the Toronto Raptors in this last stretch of games and finished with 17 pts, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in Friday's win against the Pistons. After his block on the Pistons Brandon Jennings, JV brought out the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag.

James Johnson has been a phenomenal addition to the Raptors bench, both on the defensive end as well as the offensive end. On Friday night, he threw down a filthy dunk on the Pistons Andre Drummond in the Raptors 110-100 win in Detroit. The dunk was so good, that Terrence Ross could hardly contain himself.

James Johnson Drives Down the Lane for the One-Handed Jam


The depth of the Raptors roster has been an integral part of the Raptors success this season with guys like Lou Williams, Patrick Patterson, Greivis Vasquez and James Johnson providing effective minutes off the bench. The Raptors bench scored 64 of the Raptors 106 points against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night as they cruised to a 106-94 win. James Johnson helped seal the game with this one handed jam in the fourth quarter.

Canadian Watch: Brady Heslip on the Dan Patrick Show

If you look up the NBA D-League scoring leaders, Brady Heslip of Oakville, Ontario has a commanding lead over the rest of the league with a 33.3 ppg scoring average and a whopping average of 8.3 3-pointers made per game. Back on November 29th, Brady Heslip dropped 45 points on the Idaho Stampede with a D-League record 13 three pointers.

The Raptors shot terribly from three point range on Monday night, going 9-33 from three in their 112-107 overtime win over the Denver Nuggets. It's no wonder why Patrick Patterson had a huge reaction after nailing a three to tie the game in the fourth quarter with just 28 seconds to play.

Even with a DeMar DeRozan groin injury in the third quarter, the Toronto Raptors hung tough with the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. Toronto watched their six game winning streak come to an end as Dallas came out victorious in the 106-102 win at the ACC. Monta Ellis had 30 points for the Mavs.

The depth on the Raptors bench has definitely been a key factor in the Raptors 13-2 start to the season. With guys like Patrick Patterson, Greivis Vasquez, James Johnson, Chuck Hayes and Lou Williams on the second unit, this Raptors team has one of the deepest benches in the league.

The Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Lou Williams has been an instant offensive spark off the bench and can hit the big shot when he needs to. When the third quarter started to wind down against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, Lou-Will did what he does best and hits jumpers at the buzzer.

Toronto continues to show and prove their dominance in the league with another big win over the Phoenix Suns. The Raptors move to 12-2 on the season, 4-0 vs the Western Conference and 9-1 at home with the 104-100 win over the Suns. Terrence Ross had 13 points on the night including this sweet reverse slam in the second quarter with the assist from Chuck Hayes.

The Raptors continue to make noise around the league, as Raptors shooting guard Lou Williams was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

The National Basketball Association announced Monday guard Lou Williams has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played November 17-23. Williams earned the honours for the first time in his career and joined Chris Bosh (7X), Vince Carter (7X), Mike James, Jalen Rose and Kyle Lowry as the only players in team history to win the award.

Raptors take down Lebron and the Cavs, Lou Williams drops a career high 36


The Toronto Raptors made a statement on Saturday night. Toronto took down Lebron James and the Cavs in their own arena 110-93. The Raptors fans made their presence known in Cleveland with at least a hundred Raptors fans travelling to Cleveland to support the red hot Raptors. The group of fans were chanting 'Let's Go Raptors' loudly as the fourth quarter wound down as the Raps cruised to their eleventh victory of the season.

They were just one point short of one of their largest margins of victory with a 124-83 win over the Milwaukee Bucks to move to 10-2 on the season. With the game well in hand and a 43-point lead going into the fourth quarter, Raptors rookie Bruno Caboclo was ready to make his NBA debut, and the internet was ready.

Vince Carter Tears Up at Video Tribute

It was Vince Carter tribute night at the ACC on Wednesday, but that didn't stop the Raptors from pulling out an impressive 96-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies and improving to 9-2 on the season and 7-1 at home.

The Toronto Raptors honoured VC during a first quarter timeout where a sold out Air Canada Centre stood up on their feet to honour VC, who normally receives a reign of boos and "VC Sucks" chants each time he returns to Toronto. It was a tasteful video tribute which brought out a few tears from the former Raptor. Carter finished with 7 pts on the night.

Raptors to honour Vince Carter on Wednesday

The day has finally come. The Toronto Raptors will be honouring Vince Carter on Wednesday night when the Raptors face off against the Memphis Grizzles at the Air Canada Centre. The Raptors greatest hero and most hated villain will get a tribute video honouring the former Raptor star during a first quarter timeout.

Like it or not Raptors fans (and many of you won't), the Raptors will play a video on Wednesday night looking back at Vince Carter's time in Toronto. Carter will be in town with the Memphis Grizzlies, making his only appearance in Canada this season.

Kyle Lowry creeps in on Patrick Patterson's Postgame Interview

It was an ugly win, but it was a win. The Raptors got it together in the fourth quarter and defeated the Orlando Magic 104-100 in a game that was televised nationally in the US on NBA TV. Raptors moved to 7-1 on the season after the win. After the game, Kyle Lowry snuck in on Patrick Patterson's postgame interview. I gotta say, it was a little creepy.

I have to admit, I'm not used to watching Toronto Raptors blowout wins so tonight was a special treat. The Raptors improved to 6-1 on the season with a 120-88 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. With a just few minutes to play in the final quarter and the game in hand, the Raptors James Johnson threw down a nasty posterization dunk on the Sixers Brandon Davies.

With next Thursday's game against the Chicago Bulls set to broadcast on TNT (November 13), some American hoops fans will need to get up-to-date on their Toronto Raptors knowledge. Fear not, the guys at The Starters have put together a crash course video on the city of Toronto, Rob Ford, Drake and a brief history of the Toronto Raptors including a few former Raptor greats like MoPete and Alvin Williams. With a 5-1 record to start the season, the Raptors are deserving of some much needed attention.

The Toronto Raptors continued their strong start with a big home win over the Washington Wizards 103-84 on their first 20th Anniversary Night of the season. Kyle Lowry finished with a triple double for the Raptors: 13 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists which included this crossover on the Wizards Andre Miller and the dish to JV.

Friday's game against the Washington Wizards will be the first 20th Anniversary celebration of the season where the Raptors will bring back their throwback purple uniforms with the ol' red dinosaur.

The Toronto Raptors will play host to the Washington Wizards this Friday, November 7 in the first of seven 20th Anniversary Nights presented by Air Canada. The team will wear the original road purple jersey for the first time since May 4, 1999.

Toronto Raptors to honour Jalen Rose

If you didn't know already, the Raptors will be sporting "XX" on their jerseys this season to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Raptors franchise. On the latest "Jalen and Jacoby" podcast on Grantland, former Toronto Raptor Jalen Rose revealed that he'll be heading to Toronto sometime in November to be honoured by the Toronto Raptors, recognizing the top ten greatest Raptor players of all-time possibly, all based on his comments.

The #NBANation Tour presented by Samsung rolled into Mic Mac Mall in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia this past weekend and former Toronto Raptor, Jerome Williams was in attendance for a Q&A and autograph session for all of the NBA fans in attendance. It was a jam-packed afternoon at Mic Mac Mall with multiple NBA events/activities including a three-point contest, Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown, photo opportunities with the Raptor (the Toronto Raptors mascot), and the Larry O'Brien championship trophy. Jerome Williams was the highlight on Saturday afternoon and brought his high energy to his Halifax Dogg Pound: meeting with fans as well as judging the Sprite Slam Dunk Showdown.

Episode 67 of RAPS TALK (05.05.14) - Heartbreaker.  A Paul Pierce block on Kyle Lowry proved to be the difference maker in this Toronto Raptors-Brooklyn Nets seven game series and all of a sudden, this exciting Raptors season has come to a close.  On today's recap podcast, we talk all about Game 7, the Canadian Raptors fanbase, the future of Coach Casey, the potential return of Vince Carter, the development of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, Kevin Garnett's comments about Toronto and Jonas Valanciunas' upcoming summer workout with one-time Toronto Raptor, Hakeem Olajuwon. It was a tough way to go out, but it was all worth it.  Until 2014-2015!

When you watch a seven game series end by one point, you instantly reflect back on the mistakes and the missed opportunities.

When you watch the last possession on Sunday afternoon, you wonder why Kyle Lowry tried to force up a shot with three defenders on him.

But then you've got to ask yourself: on October 30th, 2013 when the Toronto Raptors tipped off against the Boston Celtics to start the regular season, where did you see this team finishing at the end of the season?  How many #TankNation posts did you read in December when Masai Ujiri traded away Rudy Gay?  The expectations were low.
