Exit TBJ, Enter #TheStarters

So for most internet basketball fans, you've been waiting in anticipation as to where our Canadian homies, J.E. Skeets, Tas Melas and the TBJ crew would be taking their talents to.  Well the announcement came today and it couldn't be a more perfect situation, they've dropped 'The Basketball Jones' name (due to copyright issues) and have brought their blogging/podcast empire to NBA TV.  Yep, they've moved down south to the ATL and will have their own podcast, NBA blog and TV show on NBA TV under the new name "The Starters".


From the official NBA press release (crazy, eh? they have their own NBA press release):

The Starters, formerly The Basketball Jones, will produce original content across all screens including a daily TV show, podcast and blog, and a constant presence across a variety of social media platforms. Fans can engage with The Starters using the hashtag #TheStarters. Co-hosts J.E. Skeets and Tas Melas, with contributors Trey Kerby and Leigh Ellis, will use their strong fundamentals to continue showing their passion for the game with fun, entertaining and witty content generated on site in Atlanta.

It is truly a great story knowing where this crew came from; starting as an audio podcast, moving to a video podcast from a condo billiard room to this NBA TV platform.  It's really a testament to their talents, hard work and dedication to something these guys are passionate about (I'd be lying if I wasn't a tad bit jealous about their new gig.)  These guys are truly are good at what they do and are dedicated to their craft and I look forward to what's in store.


The Starters will make its NBA debut on NBA TV on October 30th before the regular season opening night double header.   You won't miss these guy because soon they'll be on NBA.com, NBA TV and their daily podcast will be on iTunes.

Again, a big congrats to Skeets, Tas, JD, Matt, Trey and Leigh from the crew here at Hip Hoop Junkies!
