POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.
FINAL SCORE: RAPS 98, CLIPPERS 73 SEASON RECORD: 17W-30L
LINE: 20 pts (8-16), 3 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk
Well, we didn't think he'd make his Raptors debut on Friday, but Rudy Gay did. Now, I welcome you to the Rudy Gay era. The Raptors took it to one of the best teams in the league and punked the Los Angeles Clippers 98-73. Rudy did not disappoint in his Raptors debut with a game-high 20 points including a couple of highlight alley-oops from his wingman, DeMar DeRozan.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #2: AMIR JOHNSON
LINE: 19 pts (7-9), 16 reb, 3 ast
With Ed Davis now a member of the Memphis Grizzlies, Amir Johnson immediately got a boost in minutes and put up a monster double double with 19 points and grabbing a career-high 16 boards. Until Andrea Bargnani returns and Valanciunas gets up to speed, expect more of these big games from Amir.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: DEMAR DEROZAN
LINE: 19 pts, 7 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk
There's no question about it. Rudy Gay is going to make DeMar DeRozan better. Gay is going to attract the double team that DeMar once had, meaning more open shots for DeRozan. Expect Gay to help boost the confidence of this team. DeMar has 7+ assists in four of the last six games, looks like Jose taught him something this season.
With two athletic wings running up and down the floor and Kyle Lowry running the point....it's going to be interesting to see how this new-look team works out.

SHOUTOUTS TO THE CLIPS:
BLAKE GRIFFIN
LINE: 17 pts, 9 reb, 2 ast
Just an ugly game from the Clips. Griffin may have been the only one that showed up on Friday night for Los Angeles.#POUNDTHEROCK TWEET OF THE NIGHT:
@RaptorsMR: Tonight's win marks fourth time #Raptors have beaten both LA teams at home in same season (04-05, 06-07, 09-10).
Next up for the Raps: vs MIA (Sunday)
