Pound the Rock Stars of the Night - Sacramento Kings 105, Toronto Raptors 96 - The 'It Wasn't Even This Close' Edition

POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.

FINAL SCORE:   KINGS 105, RAPS 96    SEASON RECORD: 12W-21L

POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: KYLE LOWRY

LINE:  24 pts (5-10), 4-7 3pt, 10-12 FT, 4 ast, 3 reb 
This wasn't pretty.  Friday night's Raptors didn't look like those red-hot Raptors from the past ten games but more like the Raptors from the first twenty.  Kyle Lowry did his best to get the Raps back in this in the second half but this team as a whole struggled.  Lowry had 24 points on the night and nailed 4 triples, but this game was all about the big man struggles stopping DeMarcus Cousins.

POUND THE ROCK STAR #2: ALAN ANDERSON

LINE:  20 pts, 2 reb, 2 ast

The 20 points off the bench helped the Raps but Anderson struggled with his shot on Friday, going just 7-17.  And it wasn't just Anderson, this team didn't shoot the ball well at all, shooting 38% from the field.  Bonus points goes out to Alan Anderson for chirping DeMarcus Cousins.

POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: ED DAVIS

LINE:  11 pts, 13 reb, 2 ast, 3 blk

None of the bigs could stop DeMarcus Cousins, and Ed Davis couldn't either but he was the only Raptors big that could stay on the floor. 41 minutes and a double double, a lot more than Aaron Gray and Amir Johnson could provide.

SHOUTOUTS TO THE KINGS:
DEMARCUS COUSINS

LINE: 31 pts (11-18), 20 reb, 4 ast, 2 stl

A season high in points, tying a career high in rebounds, the Raptors had no answer for Cousins.  It was one of those days where the Raptors could have used some big bodies like Valanciunas and Bargnani on the floor. Cousins was just a beast on Friday night.
