POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.
FINAL SCORE: NETS 107, RAPTORS 100 SEASON RECORD: 0W-2L
LINE: 28 pts (9-19), 6-7 FT, 8 ast, 8 reb, 3 stl, 1 blk
It's still early in the season but Kyle Lowry has already taken over the reigns of this team. Against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, Lowry put up a monster line: 28 pts/8 reb/8 ast in the seven point loss. Lowry was driving force for this Raptors squad on Saturday night and he showed no hesitation to shoot the ball when it came down to crunch time in the closing minutes.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #2: DEMAR DEROZAN
LINE: 25 pts (8-13), 8-10 FT, 3 reb
With a $40 million dollar paycheck, DeMar is going to have to prove he's that worth that money over these next four years. I guess tonight was a good start....25 points on 8-13 shooting and 10 free throw attempts. DeRozan looked aggressive on the floor and his added strength from the offseason is starting to make its mark.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: ANDREA BARGNANI
POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: ANDREA BARGNANI
LINE: 13 pts (6-12), 3 reb, 3ast
Bargnani is still getting used to his new teammates including the Raps new point guard, Kyle Lowry.....so as soon as the chemistry starts to gel, Bargnani will be become a more premier focus on the offence again. It was a quiet performance from Bargnani (13 pts in 34 minutes) but definitely an improvement on the 4-15 shooting performance against the Pacers.

SHOUTOUTS TO THE NETS:
BROOK LOPEZ
LINE: 27 pts (8-17), 11-15 FT, 5 reb, 1 stl, 1 blk
Well, at first I was going to give it to the Brooklyn Knight (the Nets new mascot), but then Brook Lopez took over for Brooklyn. Lopez took advantage of Jonas Valanciunas and the rest of the Raptors frontcourt, scoring 27 points in just 31 minutes. A nice home opener for the Brooklyn Nets in front of 17,000+ strong at the new Barclays Center.Next up for the Raps: vs MINNESOTA (Sunday)
