More preseason basketball on Monday night as the Toronto Raptors pulled out their 104-95 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at their last home game of the preseason.
The "I Know It's Only Preseason" Notes:
THE ROOK, M.I.A. - The rookie Terrence Ross sat this one out with flu-like symptoms. He wasn't even on the bench, Coach Casey couldn't afford to have Terrence spread his sickness to this whole team.
THE JONAS WATCH - 10 pts, (1-3, 8-10 FT) 8 reb, 4 blks - How about that free throw percentage? To get 80% free throw shooting from the seven-footer is always a good sign. To add to that, we got some Pound the Rock action from Valanciunas with his four blocks including one against the Bucks' Samuel Dalembert. It wasn't a perfect possession as Dalembert got the basket in the end, but it was another good look at what kind of defensive presence Valanciunas can bring nightly.
BENCH PRODUCTION- Great production from the Raptors second unit tonight; Anthony Anderson (10 pts), Amir Johnson (10 pts) and John Lucas III (8 pts) off of the bench.
SHOUTOUTS TO THE BUCKS - Monta Ellis can score from anywhere at anytime for Milwaukee. 26 pts (11-24) and 5 dimes. Also, have to shoutout Ersan Ilyasova with his 19 pts and 7 rebounds....he hit some big shots in the fourth.
CUTS - (via Eric Koreen @EKoreen):
"McNeal and Wright getting goodbyes in Raps' room. Toronto down to 16 players."WHAT'S NEXT? The Raptors are on the road to take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night.
