Bon Jovi headlines at Raptors-Wizards preseason game, John Wall "Never heard of him."

posted by Romy Aquino
Going into last night, the talk was all about the debut of Kyle Lowry with the Toronto Raptors and the chance for the fans to get their first look at the likely Raptors regular season starting five of Lowry / DeRozan / Fields / Bargnani / Valanciunas.  But despite a solid night for Lowry (14 pts/6 ast) and a sick throwdown by Valanciunas....most of the news that came out on Thursday morning was about Bon Jovi.  Yes sir, Bon Jovi.

The "Livin' On a Prayer" rocker was sitting courtside at Wednesday night's Raptors-Wizards preseason game.  The stories came post game.  I first caught wind of it on my Twitter feed.

John Wall on Jon Bon Jovi: "Who is that?" Jan Vesely was in shock. "What? You don't know him?" John: "I'm a 90s baby, I never heard of him."
The 22-year old Wall (born in 1990) had no idea who the "Bed of Roses" or "Blaze of Glory" musician was.  Weird.  Well, maybe not.  Sure, I'm in my thirties, so I definitely know who Bon Jovi is...this is nothing but a sign of a generational gap, I guess.  The best part about this whole Bon Jovi appearance was that the Raptors Dance Pak and some of the players were even getting photos outside the locker room.  Including Jose Calderon and "Bon-Jovi-is-out-there-and-I-am-half-nude-in-a-towel-but-I-gotta-get-a-picture", Amir Johnson (via @iamamirjohnson Instagram).
These are the stories of preseason basketball.

The Raptors love their Bon Jovi, especially these guys.
