Quincy Acy, who was drafted 37th overall in this year's NBA draft looks to be a banger who can get baskets in the paint based on his highlight reel. The Mequite, TX native was a double double guy at Baylor and was fairly quick and athletic in the post. In his last season with Baylor, he averaged 12 ppg and 7.4 rpg. He was named Big 12 All-Defensive team in his senior year and All Bid 12 second team.
For the Raps, he'll most likely be a role guy off the bench who will be able to finish around the rim. He'll bring energy, get dirty and be a defensive presence. At 6'8", 224 lbs, he'll bring some toughness in the post but may have some problems as he's a little undersized at the four spot. But hopefully this young gun will get some minutes off the bench alongside Aaron Gray and Jamaal Magloire.
Acy on his role with the Raps (via the National Post):
“I love to compete. When you think of my game, we’re in Canada now, so think of a hockey player on a basketball court. I’m going to make tough plays, compete, make sure I’m going hard in every practice, every drill.”
