Raps Get The Win, McGee Gets A Poster

Tank Nation wasn't in effect on Wednesday night with the Raps pulling out the 105-96 win over the Denver Nuggets.  The Nuggets didn't walk away empty-handed though, as JaVale McGee got his own poster with this nasty dunk on Jose Calderon.

Time to pack it in, because we're cheering for pizza!

It's time to pack it in, Raps fans.  Raps get blown out by 16 to the Magic last night, Jerryd Bayless is done for the season with the torn oblique muscle and Stan Van Gundy is ripping Raps fans for cheering for free pizza.  It's almost fishing season, folks!

POUND THE ROCK STARS OF THE NIGHT - NETS 98, RAPTORS 84

POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.

FINAL SCORE:    NETS 98, RAPTORS 84    SEASON RECORD: 14W-29L

POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: JERRYD BAYLESS
LINE:  16 pts (6-11), 10 ast, 4 reb
No Deron Williams, no Brook Lopez and you would think that this would a game that the Raps would have taken control of.  Well, not when Tank Nation intervenes.  The Raptors got whooped in the second half by guys like Kris Humpries and yes, Gerald Green (who scored 26 points).  The one of only a few bright spots for the Raps was Bayless, who put up Calderon numbers: 16 points and 10 dimes.  Here's to the lottery!

BABY GOT BRACKETS! - Join the HHJ Pick'em Group

What's up people. We started our own March Madness Pick'em group 'BABY GOT BRACKETS' on Yahoo! for all you bracketologists.  So, come join and get your brackets in before Thursday's games. There's no grand prize for the winner except pride... and the fact that you somehow managed to put together a winning bracket without doing any research (that's my strategy, anyhow).

But if you do win, we'll  give you a shoutout on the podcast and the blog.

Good luck.

POUND THE ROCK STARS OF THE NIGHT - BUCKS 105, RAPTORS 99

POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.

FINAL SCORE:    BUCKS 105, RAPTORS 99    SEASON RECORD: 13W-28L

POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: JERRYD BAYLESS
LINE:  16 pts (7-13), 6 ast, 2 reb
It was a better effort from the Raps last night but they still walked away with another loss.  The Raps were without Jose Calderon (ankle), which meant more minutes for Jerryd Bayless last night.  Bayless played 41 minutes and scored 16 points on 7-13 shooting.  He also dished out six assists as Bayless filled in nicely for the injured Calderon.

The Best of a Blowout - POUND THE ROCK STARS OF THE NIGHT - PISTONS 105, RAPTORS 86

POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.

FINAL SCORE:    PISTONS 105, RAPTORS 86    SEASON RECORD: 13W-27L
POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: DEMAR DEROZAN
LINE:  15 pts, 9-10 FT, 5 reb
This was ugly.  Sure, Andrea Bargnani returned last night but the Raptors just did not compete at all with the just as inferior Detroit Pistons.  Who was the best of last night's blowout?  It's tough but I guess it would be DeMar DeRozan who shot the ball terrible (3-10) but made up for it by going to the line ten times.  This loss was even uglier than the one against the Bobcats, and that loss was terrible.

The Sonny Weems Show - Weems wins 2012 BEKO-LKL Dunk Contest

Former Raptor, Sonny Weems, is putting on a show over in Lithuania. Weems won the BEKO-LKL 2012 dunk contest last week with some pretty nice throwdowns including his best attempt at a Jordan free throw line dunk (I must say, it was pretty good.)  What's best of all?  NO PROPS NEEDED.

HFX to ORL: Photo highlights from All-Star Weekend, Part 1

Here are a few photo highlights from my trip from Halifax to Orlando.  It was definitely a jam packed vacation and as a basketball fan, the All-Star weekend was definitely an amazing experience.

First up....a few pics from the NBA on TNT night, this was actually a total random event as I had no idea that this was set up at Universal Studios that Thursday.  It was cool, since it was Heat-Knicks night.
On the way to dinner with my wife at Universal Studio's City Walk, we stumbled onto the NBA on TNT set for Heat vs. Knicks.
Best surprise of the night.

HFX to ORL: NBA Jam Session featuring the dunk of the weekend, Blindfold 2.0 via Kenny Dobbs

Back with more video content from my trip from Halifax to Orlando. I checked out the NBA Jam Session at the Orange County Convention Center on the Friday afternoon (I chose the Friday Jam Session since I heard Lebron James was going to be in attendance of the Sprite Slam Dunk showdown). The dunk-off was pretty impressive and it would be safe to say that these dunks were more exciting that the ones from All-Star Saturday night including this dunk, which in my opinion, was the best dunk of all of the All-Star weekend via Kenny Dobbs with the "Blindfold 2.0".

Stay tuned for more All-Star weekend videos!
