POUND THE ROCK STARS OF THE NIGHT - LAKERS 94, RAPTORS 92

POUND THE ROCK STARS - On a nightly basis, no matter how good or bad the Raps play, no matter if they blow out a team or if they get blown out and no matter if they win or lose, these are the Raptors with the best 'Pound the Rock' status for the night.

FINAL SCORE:  LAKERS 94, RAPS 92    SEASON RECORD: 9W-20L
POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: JOSE CALDERON
LINE:  30 pts (13-18), 4-4 3pt, 6 ast, 2 reb
Man....Raptors fans got their money's worth on Sunday afternoon.  A close game down the stretch, a Kobe game winner and a career night from Jose?  That's worth cost of admission right there.  Jose was rollin' at the ACC on Sunday, putting up a career-high 30 pts.  He nailed some clutch down the stretch that kept this game interesting.  I'm sure the Lakers' Jerry Buss will be looking at this performance when he's looking for a replacement for Derek Fisher.

POUND THE ROCK STAR #2: LINAS KLEIZA
LINE:  15 pts (6-11), 4 reb, 3 ast
Kleiza has been an effective offensive weapon for the Raptors' second unit.  Fifteen points in 27 minutes was a solid performance as he scored more than any of the starters (outside of Calderon).  Maybe he needs to get a starting nod sometime soon?  Kleiza hit one of the big shots late in the fourth that put the Raptors up 88-84.

POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: JAMES JOHNSON
LINE:  7 pts (3-8), 6 reb, 2 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk
Sure, it's not a great line but this highlight alone deserved some Pound the Rock love, as Johnson went coast to coast for the slam.

SHOUTOUTS TO THE LAKERS:
KOBE BRYANT
LINE: 27 pts, 2 reb, 2 stl
Kobe Bryant did his thing.  Bryant broke into assassin mode in the fourth quarter, nailing the game winner with 4.2 seconds to play.  There was no way he was going to lose this game after losing to Jeremy Lin and the Knicks on Friday.

ROCK BOTTOM:
Rasual Butler's failure to call the timeout in five seconds may have been one of the biggest mistakes in Sunday's game.  To have a five second violation at that point, is a tough one to swallow.  Especially when Butler didn't even have any time on the floor before that point.

Next up for the Raps: vs NYK and Jeremy Lin!!
