FINAL SCORE: BLAZERS 94, RAPS 84 SEASON RECORD: 4W-12L
POUND THE ROCK STAR #1: JAMES JOHNSON
LINE: 23 pts (10-17), 6 rebs, 2 ast, 2 stl, 4blk, 30 minutes
I watched NBA TV this morning and Sam Mitchell was doing the highlight reel for the Raps-Blazers game. And once they broke down the stats, Mitchell said "James Johnson, who? He should not be your leading scorer." and I think Smitch was right. But hey, it's good to see James Johnson put up a career night on the offensive end, which wasn't apparent for the first part of the season.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #2: DEMAR DEROZAN
LINE: 22 pts, 2 rebs, 2 ast
I expect these nights from DeMar on a nightly basis but that hasn't been the case. 7-21 doesn't make for a good shooting night, but at least we got to see DeMar attack the basket a little more.
POUND THE ROCK STAR #3: JOSE CALDERON
LINE: 7 pts, 13 ast, 3 stl
Solid night for Jose, 13 dimes ties a season night for Senor Calderon. And....only one turnover, can't complain about that.
SHOUTOUTS TO THE BLAZERS:
Lamarcus Aldridge
LINE: 33 pts (12-25), 23 rebs, 5 ast, 2 stls
The Toronto Raptors. The team where you can pull off career nights. And Aldridge did just that with his first 30-20 game of his career. The Raps had no answer for Aldridge...just a reminder that we could have had Aldridge in that '06 draft. Ugh.
