What happened in the NBL Canada last night? It's a Miracle! 12/16/11

Breaking down what happened in the National Basketball League of Canada on Friday night.

MONCTON MIRACLES 111, SUMMERSIDE STORM 102
Summerside Top Performers

Moncton Top Performers
Darrell Wonge - 30 pts (8-11), 4 reb
Trayvon Lathan - 23 pts, 11 reb, 3 ast


Well it took twelve games, but they did it.  The Moncton Miracles got their first win of the season last night with their 111-102 win over the Summerside Storm.  The Storm who were also struggling as of late, lost their sixth straight.  Darrell Wonge led the way for the Miracles, dropping a season-high 30 points on the night.  Moncton scored a whopping 40 points in the final quarter to close out the Storm.

QUEBEC KEBS 96, OSHAWA POWER 82

Oshawa Top Performers

Coach Rob Spon is showing that his Kebs team is an NBL Canada championship contender. The Kebs are now 8-2 in their last ten games, winning six of their last seven including their 96-82 win over the Oshawa Power last night.  The NBL's second-leading scorer, Ralphy Holmes, put up a double double last night for the Kebs, scoring 24 points and grabbing 10 boards.  The Power's Tut Ruach (Toronto) had a near triple double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

Orien Greene - LA D-Fenders


Congrats goes out to former Halifax Rainmen guard, Orien Greene, who made his Los Angeles D-Fender (NBA D-League) debut last night.  His stat line from last night: 20 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast in the 117-112 loss to the Bakersfield Jam.
