Movin' On Up - NBL Canada Guard, Tommy Mitchell, heads to the NBA

posted by Romy Aquino

This is a good sign for the National Basketball League of Canada.

Tommy Mitchell, who played twelve games for this year's Quebec Kebs is movin' on up.  The 6'3" guard out of Houston, Texas was invited to this year's Golden State Warriors training camp.  He'll be looking to crack a spot on this year's Warriors roster who is coached by former Knick and former NBA analyst, Mark Jackson.

Mitchell also has ties with both the Halifax Rainmen and Saint John Mill Rats organizations of the NBL.  The Siena alum played three games with the Halifax Rainmen last season in the Premier Basketball League and averaged 11.7 ppg.  He also played for the (Manchester) Millrats back in 2008-09.

OTHER NOTABLES IN THIS YEAR'S NBA TRAINING CAMPS
  • Will Blalock (11 games with this year's Saint John Mill Rats) was invited to the Charlotte Bobcats training camp roster.
  • Marshall Brown (22 games with the Halifax Rainmen last season) is a member of the Portland Trail Blazers training camp
