In a matchup between the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks, Canada's own, Joel Anthony denies Andrew Bogut's dunk attempt, sending the Aussie to the floor..
The Toronto Raptors won their fourth straight game Thursday night as they came back from a 16 point deficit to defeat the Knicks in their own house 106 to 104. It looked bleak for Toronto at first, allowing 34 points on 61 percent shooting through one but the team never gave up as they willed their way to victory led by Hedo Turkoglu who had easily his most impressive performance in a Raptors uniform.
RAPS/HUSKIES 111, HEAT 103
In an important matchup between the 5th and 6th seed of the Eastern conference, the Toronto Raptors/Huskies moved up to the fifth spot after defeating DWade's Miami Heat 111-103. Antoine Wright sealed the game with a huge corner three from a dish from Jose Calderon with 15 seconds to play. Chris Bosh had a big night scoring 24 points to go along with his 18 boards. Andrea Bargnani finished with 27 pts.
I may have to start my own website called "LetDeMarPlayInTheRookieSophmoreGame.com" The Rookie-Sophmore rosters were announced today and Toronto's rook and starting shooting guard, DeMar DeRozan didn't make the cut. Who made the cut for the Rookies?
Leading in to Sunday’s game versus the Lakers, Toronto had lost 13 of their previous 15 to Kobe and company. The Raptors refused to back down to the defending champions as they rallied back from a 10 point deficit edging L.A. by a single point 106-105.
We're back at it again for our first blog of the new year as we talk more Toronto Raptors, DeMar DeRozan in the All-Star weekend dunk-in and Chris Bosh taking over as the Raptors' all-time scoring leader.
I was watching TV the other night when I thought for sure I saw Vince Carter in a Ritz Crackers commercial. When I searched the web for the commercial, I discovered this old VC Nike commercial that I had never seen before....Vince with the cat jumpshot, the behind the back purse pass, check it out:
As far as if it was Vince in the Ritz Crackers commercial, I have yet to find out...
Looks like its back to the drawing board for the Raptors after a disappointing loss to Milwaukee Wednesday night.
The Raptors went to Bosh early on in the game which set the tone for the soon to be free agent. Bosh had racked up 22 points while hauling in 8 rebounds and contributing with a respectable 4 assists by halftime. He shot 8-11 from the floor and was 6-6 from the charity stripe. CB4 turned in a career high 44 points in total while snagging 12 boards on the night.
RAPS 112, KNICKS 104
It was Italian Heritage Night at Madison Square Garden on Friday, and a couple of Italians put on a show. Andrea Bargnani put up 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Raptors held off the New York Knicks 112-104. Bargnani nailed four triples in the opening quarter to help the Raptors build a 19-point lead in the first. New York's Italian forward, Danilo Gallinari, had 26 points for the Knicks. And unfortunately, Marco Belinelli was DNP for Toronto.
During Phoenix's loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, Steve Nash took a shot to the mouth from an Earl Watson elbow causing a gush of blood to flow from Captain Canada's mouth...it just looked NASTY:
The Raptors dropped another game to the Boston Celtics 114-107 yesterday afternoon but in that game, Chris Bosh also dropped a huge dunk on the Celtics' Shelden Williams' face, check it out......ooooohhweee!
RAPTORS 108, SIXERS 106
It was an ugly start, but the Raptors and Chris Bosh redeemed themselves in second half. The Raps rallied from eleven points down at halftime to defeat the Sixers 108-106. Chris Bosh sealed the game with a three point play with 8 seconds left in the fourth.
RAPS 108, MAGIC 103
First of all, you have to catch this Hedo Turkoglu "Pizza, Pizza" commercial that's playing on TSN if you haven't seen it yet. It's ridiculous.
CELTICS 103, RAPS 96
The Raptors were outhustled by the Celtics second unit last night. With players like Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo and Marquis Daniels out of the lineup, the Raptors couldn't muster up enough effort to put away the Celtics' second unit. The Celtics took advantage in the second quarter with guys like Kendrick Perkins and Eddie House making big baskets for the C's. The Raptors mad a run in the closing minutes with big threes from Marco Belinelli, Bargnani and Jack to pull within five but the effort was a little too late.
