Last night marked the return of a few familiar faces, former Raptors coach, Sam Mitchell, former Raptor, Kris Humphries, but it also marked the return of a few starters in Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani.  After a brutal loss against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, Jay Triano got a few early Christmas gifts with the return of his starting point guard Jose Calderon and leading scorer, Andrea Bargnani, who had 32 points and 9 boards including this "THUNDEROUS SLAM....OH MY!":




The Raps outlasted the Nets in the final quarter, going on a late run.  Leandro Barbosa iced the game with a three ball with just 15 seconds to play.  Jose Calderon had a double double in his return with 15 points and 14 assists.  Linas Kleiza started in place of Sonny Weems and also had a double double with his 18 points and 12 boards.

For New Jersey, Brook Lopez led the Nets with 20 points.  Former Raptor, Kris Humphries had 12 points and 12 boards.

KEY NOTES:

  • The #3 pick of the 2010 draft, Derrick Favors, had 8 points and 4 boards
  • Raps outrebounded the Nets 43-39
  • Kleiza's 12 boards were a career high
  • Ed Davis Watch: 0 pts, 6 boards
  • Jerryd Bayless had a quiet night with 2 pts and 2 boards
  • Young Onez Watch: Amir 6 pts, 6 fouls in 21 minutes, DeMar 14 pts, Sonny - DNP
  • Next up, the Raps take on Kobe Bryant and the Lakeshow on Sunday afternoon.
